Meet Noodles!
Short Legs, Long Tail, Endless Cuddles 🤗💖
Noodles, a one-year-old Cocker Spaniel Cross, came into our care recently. We’re not sure what he is crossed with but think Cocker Spaniel with short stocky legs and a most impressive long tail!!
Although he is friendly, Noodles is quite a nervous boy. He’s just a puppy who is learning about the world, so it can take him a little while to approach new people. However, a few treats and some play with a ball soon win him over. Once he has got to know you he is the most affectionate little dog, who adores cuddles.
Noodles can be protective of his food, and sometimes of his people too. In his current home, with a one-year-old and a five-year old, this led to a few incidents where he snapped and nipped at the children. He is a young dog who hasn’t yet learned that he doesn’t need to worry about his dinner being taken, and with a calm, predictable routine, clear boundaries and some positive training, there is every reason to think he can learn to feel more secure. For now, he needs adults and older children, who will understand that a dog with food or a chew should be left alone to enjoy it in peace. This means that he will not be suitable for a home with young children, but he will make a fabulous companion and playmate for older children. Noodles can also potentially live with another dog, subject to a careful introduction at our kennels in Buntingford.
Like most Cocker Spaniels, Noodles is a lively little chap who adores playing with a tennis ball and who loves his walks. He is crate trained, and he currently sleeps in his crate at night, and he travels well in the car. We would love to find him a home with an active family who can continue to work on his training and give him a life filled with activity and love.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
