Meet Buddy!

This bundle of mischief and energy is Buddy, a young Beagle looking for his forever home due to the sad passing away of his owner.

Buddy isn’t a year old yet and he is at a crucial stage in his development into adulthood. He hasn’t had a lot of training yet but he’s incredibly clever and very eager to learn. His new owner will need to commit to regular training and enrichment to ensure that he grows to be the wonderful and well-mannered dog that we know he has the potential to become. We will provide behavioural support to get you started but the commitment involved in taking on such a young and lively pup shouldn’t be underestimated.

Although he’s a lovely, friendly and affectionate boy, Buddy has a tendency to guard “stolen items” but this is being managed well in his foster home. He is happy to share his belongings though, and plays nicely with his toys. He hasn’t yet learned that jumping up and nipping isn’t the right way to get attention from his humans, so we are looking for a child-free home whilst we help his new family to work on these issues.

Aside from his puppy exuberance, Buddy is a truly fantastic little chap. He loves being out and about, he adores getting lots of fuss from new people and he gets on well with other dogs. With patience and dedication to training, he has the potential to be an amazing companion and we’re hoping that an experienced owner with plenty of time to devote to him will come forward to offer him the happy ever after that he so deserves.

Although we can consider a home with other resident dogs, Buddy cannot live with cats or small furries.

Can you offer Buddy the second chance that he desperately needs? Please get in touch!

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
