Meet Star!
The Devoted Companion Searching for Her Safe Haven 🤗💕

Little Staffy X Lurcher Star came into our care recently as a stray. Born in April 2025 she is still a puppy and she is full of youthful exuberance. She loves nothing more than gentle strokes, lots of cuddles and simply being near to people. She enjoys her walks and she walks beautifully on the lead.

Like many young dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Star struggles when she is left on her own. She will flourish in a home where someone is around most of the time, at least while she settles in and learns that she is finally safe. We will provide behavioural support to help her settle into her new home and provide tips so that with time and love she will be able to be left for short periods.

We have discovered that Star has the potential to be an escape artist, although her escape attempts have only taken place when she is on her own. Any garden in her new home will need to be very secure and her new owners will need to take great care, until she has settled in, to ensure that she doesn’t try to escape.

However, we have found that she copes better when she has another dog for company. We feel that she would thrive in a home with another dog and we hope that a calm canine companion will help her to feel secure and settled. As she is such a friendly girl she can certainly share her new home with children.

All this beautiful girl is looking for is love and companionship and someone to work with her so that she feels safe and secure. Could you be the one to show Star that she is finally home?

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
