Meet Star!
The Devoted Companion Searching for Her Safe Haven 🤗💕

Little Lurcher Cross Star came into our care recently as a stray. Born in April 2025 she is still a puppy and she is full of youthful exuberance. She adores cuddles and she loves going out for a walk where she would happily sniff all day!

Star is a lively  and clever young lady; in fact, we wonder if there is some collie in her breed mix. To keep her mind engaged and to help her relax and feel calm, she needs substantial mental and physical stimulation. We feel that she will benefit from activities that keep her clever mind busy; engaging activities like agility or flyball would be perfect for her.

Like many young dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Star struggles when she is left on her own. She will flourish in a home where someone is around most of the time, at least initially. We will provide behavioural support to help her settle into her new home and provide tips so that with time and love she will be able to be left for short periods.

Star has the potential to be an escape artist as she can jump very high! Any garden in her new home will need to be very secure and her new owners will need to take great care, especially until she has settled in, to ensure that she doesn’t try to escape.

Star generally gets on well with other dogs, but sometimes she can get overstimulated, which can lead to squabbles. As a result we feel that she would be better as the only dog in her new home. She can certainly share her new home with older children who will be able to cope with her liveliness and exuberance.

All this beautiful girl is looking for is love and someone to work with her so that she can relax and feel safe and secure. Could you be the one to show Star that she is finally home?

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
