Meet Stanley!
A Spirited Welsh Terrier Seeking His Perfect Adventure Companion 💖🐾

Little Stanley is a beautiful Welsh Terrier who is bursting with personality and potential. At just one year old he is looking for his forever home. He loves his walks and adores playing with tug toys and playing fetch with a ball. He can be a little cheeky as he loves to chew his toys and he will hide his toys and bones around the house, where they have even been found in plant pots!

Welsh Terriers are intelligent, active and cheerful dogs, with an independent nature and a sharp mind. They were originally bred to hunt foxes and badgers and they often have a strong prey drive. This breed has a lot of energy and without sufficient exercise they can become bored and can develop unwanted behaviours like chewing, digging and guarding

Stanley is a typical Welsh Terrier as he does guard toys and treats. He will flourish with someone with experience of this breed who is committed to positive training and enrichment. Activities such as obedience, agility and tracking would be great for him as well as mental challenges, such as problem solving games, to help keep his active mind busy.

His perfect match will be an adult-only household (or one with older children) where he can be the star of the show. We think he would be best as the only dog in his new home, although he can possibly live with another similar sized dog subject to careful introductions.

Have you go the time and energy to work with this adorable little chap so that he can develop into the well-adjusted boy that we know he can be? If so, please get in touch.

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
