Hello friends and supporters, it’s Top Dog and King of the Kennels Andy here!
I have been in the care of RATS for most of my life. Due to a traumatic incident when I was just a youngster, I’m terrified of strangers, so finding my “furever” home was always going to be a challenge. After trying it out a few times, I’ve decided that I love my family at the kennels too much and I feel safe here, so this is my home now.
But nothing’s for nothing in this day and age you know. I’ve got to earn my keep chaps. This terrible virus thing that has been going around for nearly two years has made it really difficult for our humans to raise as much money as they usually do to continue to change the lives of so many other animals just like me, so I have taken matters into my own paws…
Celebrating the charity’s 37 year history, I have come up with the ultimate challenge. My dedicated team of Kennel Mummies tell me every day how much they love me and how they’d do anything for me. So let’s put that to the test, shall we?
I have challenged Jenna, Jo, Hayley and Lisa to move in with me and my kennel buddies. For 37 hours, from 08:00 on Saturday 28th August to 22:00 on Sunday 29th August, we’re having a sponsored sleepover!
Across 37 hours, my amazing team of devoted volunteers will be living, breathing and sleeping the life of a rescue dog. They won’t be allowed to leave the kennels (they’ll even be sleeping in with me and my furry mates) and I’ll be keeping them busy with lots of activities and gruelling challenges across the weekend (which I will of course be reporting with glee from my doggie blog!)
I’ll be taking you behind-the-scenes at our kennels whilst we follow their progress. I might even sneakily film the tussle over who gets to sleep in my luxury palace with me And wake them all up in the dead of the night with a live broadcast, so you can see for yourselves just how delighted (and disheveled!) they’ll be looking curled up on the floor in their baskets. Mwahahaha!
By way of thanks to my myriad of fans for supporting my two-legged kennel mates, I’m also laying on some fabulous competitions, which I’ll be running across the weekend. Keep an eye on our social media for details of the pawsome prizes up for grabs!
