This summer at RATS Animal Rescue has been filled with excitement, heartwarming connections and overwhelming support from our community. We want to take a moment to thank everyone involved in our summer events and share some of the highlights.
Layston Grove Dog Show: A Day of Fun and Funds Raised for RATS
Over the summer, we had the absolute pleasure of attending the Layston Grove Care Home dog show. We are incredibly grateful that RATS was chosen as one of the beneficiaries, receiving £263 from this wonderful event. In total, more than £320 was raised on the day, all of which goes directly to the care of our rescue animals.
We want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported us. Your contributions mean the world to us and our animals. A special shoutout goes to our incredible volunteers who had the toughest job of judging all the dog show categories. Every dog was simply outstanding, and it was wonderful to see familiar faces, including a few of our own rescue dogs who came along to show their support.
Rickling Green Family Fun Day & Buntingford Classic Car Show
In addition to the Layston Grove event, we were involved in two other incredible summer events: the Rickling Green Family Fun Day and the Buntingford Classic Car Show. Blessed with perfect weather, these events were a huge success in spreading awareness about our mission.
We want to give huge thanks to Liz, Helen, Pam, Clare and Jo for giving their time to run our stalls and judge the dog show at Rickling Green. We were also delighted to have volunteers like Rob, Gilly, Joanna and Melody drop by, as well as recently adopted Basil, who came to say hello with his new owner Richard.
These events raised over £300, which will help support our rescue efforts. We also had the opportunity to meet many supporters and potential volunteers who showed interest in our work. Thank you all for your continued support!
Barkfordshire Dog Festival: A Pawsome Day Out!
Wrapping up our summer, we had an unforgettable time at Barkfordshire - The Dog Festival 2024! Held at Fairlands Valley Park, the day was packed with excitement. With 28 different dog show classes, fun activities, vibrant stalls and delicious food, it was the perfect event for dog lovers of all ages.
We were overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and the enthusiasm of everyone who attended. Whether you took part in the dog show, joined the activities or simply came to show your support, we're truly grateful. Not only was it a fun-filled day, but we also raised vital funds for RATS that will help us continue caring for our rescue animals
A huge thank you once again to everyone who helped make this summer such a success for RATS. Your support allows us to continue doing the important work we do, and we couldn’t do it without you. Here's to more exciting events and successful fundraising in the future!
