Meet Pickles!
The Little Survivor Who Never Gave Up!

Pickles is an adorable little Yorkie, who came into our care as a stray. We do not know how old she is, but we estimate that she is around four years old. It very quickly became apparent that she had some issues with her mobility and X-rays revealed that she had a dislocated hip as well as damaged knee joints. She urgently needed surgery and a successful operation was carried out by our wonderful vets. She is now recovering in a loving foster home and as she is healing well she is now ready to find her forever home.

Her fosterer tells us that she is a highly affectionate little madam. She adores playing fetch with her growing toy collection, although she does love to sit on a lap, so regular breaks for cuddles are essential! She is perfectly house trained and she settles contentedly in her own bed at night, where she sleeps peacefully through until morning. A quick mooch around in the garden every couple of hours keeps her happy during the day.

This gentle soul loves her daily walks and she trots beautifully on the lead without pulling. Due to her surgery she can only go on short walks at the moment and as she mustn’t twist or turn she must be kept on the lead. This is just for the next few months until she is fully healed. Pickles can be a little nervous with other dogs and can also get a little jealous, so we feel that she would thrive as the only dog in her new home. An adult only home would suit her best, although older, gentle children might win her heart too.

Are you looking for an affectionate companion for gentle strolls, games of fetch and endless cuddles? If so, Pickles could be just the girl for you.

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
