Meet Hot Dog!
A Little Sausage Looking for a Soft Place to Land 🌭💕
Little Hot Dog arrived in our care recently as a stray. We are not sure of his age, but we estimate he is between two and three years old.
This absolutely adorable little Dachshund X was understandably terrified when he first arrived. At first, he wouldn’t go near anyone and just ran away if anyone went into his kennel. But slowly, Hot Dog is learning to trust. Sit quietly with him now, and he’ll come and settle beside you. He’s discovered treats and he’s discovered gentle strokes, and we know that he will be the friendliest boy and the most loveable companion once he has had time to decompress. Hot Dog hasn’t ventured far beyond his kennel yet, but we are hoping to introduce him to some short gentle walks very soon.
Hot Dog has made friends with another dog at the kennels, and they enjoy spending time together. We really think that he would benefit from the company of a calm, confident canine companion in his new home to show him the ropes and give him courage. This gentle little soul would thrive in a quiet, peaceful home, where he can decompress at his own pace. We are sure that he can live with children, but slightly older children would be best as they will understand that he may need a little space, at least initially, to settle into his new home.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
