Meet Honey!
The Cuddle Queen Searching for Her Kingdom 🤗🐾
Honey, who we believe is around two years old, came into our care recently as a stray. She is a Mastiff Cross and we wouldn’t be surprised if there is some Staffy mixed in there somewhere. She really is the most affectionate girl who absolutely adores a cuddle. Her favourite thing is to cuddle up on the sofa, but be warned - Honey is a very enthusiastic licker who gives the most thorough face wash ever!
Honey is a very strong girl and, right now, she pulls when she is on the lead. She will be staying with us at RATS until she masters better lead manners because we refuse to set her up to fail. Our experienced trainer is working with her on a regular basis and we are already seeing real progress, but Honey needs adopters who understand that training doesn’t stop at our kennel door.
Honey’s new family’s commitment to her ongoing training will be absolutely critical. This means that we are looking for a family who will be prepared to make several pre-adoption visits to our kennels in Buntingford to work directly with our trainer and Honey. We will also provide behavioural support once Honey is in her new home to set you up for success, but ideally Honey needs someone who understands large bull breeds and who can handle her size and strength with confidence.
We are happy that Honey can live with older children who can cope with her size and enthusiastic affection. We are hopeful that Honey could live with another similar sized dog, but careful introductions would need to be made at our kennels in Buntingford.
Are you ready to be Honey’s training partner, her teacher and her forever family? You will be rewarded with total devotion and the best cuddles ever!

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
