Meet Reggie!

Gorgeous 5 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Reggie recently came into our care as a stray. We have no information about his background but we suspect that he was used for breeding.

He’s an adorable little chap, with a truly beautiful nature. Affectionate and loving, he is a total cutie. Although he isn’t a lap dog and does like his own space, he actively seeks fuss from his fosterer and settles next to her for snoozes. He also enjoys long, sniffy walks.

We don’t believe that Reggie has lived in a home before. Everything is new to him so he’ll need a patient and compassionate owner. His fosterer is working on house training him but there may be a few toilet accidents at first whilst he gets used to domestic life. Because of his anxiety, he can also be a little vocal in the home but he may become quieter when he feels more at ease and comfortable.

Sadly, we have discovered that Reggie has epilepsy and we are working with our vet to ensure he is on the best medication to keep his seizures under control. He will need to be on epilepsy medication for the rest of his life, so the expense of his medical care will need to be a consideration for his new family.

In order to reduce the risk of triggering seizures, we’re looking for a quiet home for Reggie, with no children. We don’t yet know for sure what causes his seizures, but somewhere peaceful would be extremely beneficial to his welfare. Reggie hasn’t lived with cats before but he’d be happy to share his home with another calm dog.

Can you offer our beautiful Reggie a future filled with love and happiness? Please get in touch!

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
