Meet Roxy!
Very cuddly with lots of love to give!
Beautiful Roxy, who came into our care as a stray, will be two years old at the end of June. Her chip shows that she is a Dogue de Bordeaux cross, but from her looks we believe that she may be crossed with a Mastiff, so she’s a big girl!
Roxy was a little timid when she first arrived, but she has now settled in and we have discovered that she is very cuddly and absolutely loves everyone she meets. Her favourite thing is to snuggle up on the sofa and she will nudge your arm if you dare to stop stroking her.
She is a strong girl and she is not yet confident with her lead and harness on. We don’t know whether she has walked very much, so her new owners will need to take some time building her confidence with walking.
Roxy has not shown any reactivity towards the other dogs at the kennels, so we are confident that she can live with another similar sized dog, subject to careful introductions at the kennels. We are also happy that she can live with older children, but she hasn’t been tested with cats or small mammals.
If you have a big sofa and lots of love to give, then perhaps Roxy is just the dog for you.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
