Meet Pippin!
Six year old Chihuahua Pippin was rehomed by RATS in 2023. Sadly, he is back with us as his owner was unfortunately taken into residential care.
Pippin is a feisty little Chihuahua with a mighty personality. A nervous boy, he’ll try to nip people he doesn’t know but as he needed to have most of his teeth removed, he’s not capable of doing any real harm.
Once he gets to know you, he absolutely loves cuddles. He’s a fiend for treats so it’s not difficult to persuade him to make friends. A snuggle monster, Pippin’s favourite party trick is to bury himself in his blankets so that we have to play “hunt the Chihuahua”.
Although he’ll go out for a walk, he’s not hugely keen. He’d be much happier with a little garden to mooch around in, and he enjoys chasing a ball. What Pippin loves most is a cosy bed with lots of comfy blankets. Pippin isn’t fully toilet trained so this is something his new owner will need to work on with him.
Pippin used to live with another dog and he gets on well with the other four-legged residents at the kennels, so he’d be happy to share his home with other pooches. Living with children would be too stressful for him and he hasn’t been tested around cats or small furries.
Do you have a cosy, loving home for our precious Pippin? Please get in touch!

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
