Meet Marshall!
Big Heart, Big Spots, Big Sofa Required 😍🤗
Marshall, the most handsome five year old Dalmatian, came into our care recently through no fault of his own. A change in his family’s circumstances meant that sadly they could no longer keep him and he’s arrived at RATS a little bewildered, but ready to charm his way into a new home.
Marshall is a very enthusiastic and loving boy. His previous family worked hard on his training and his repertoire of tricks is very impressive. In fact, he will often do some tricks without even being asked and we always have big smiles on our faces watching him spin, lay-down and sit up and beg without any prompting!
Once Marshall gets to know you he is the most affectionate boy. If you sit down, even for a minute, he’ll be right there, leaning in for fuss and cuddles and handing out his signature welcome: a thorough, enthusiastic face wash. He can take a little time to warm up to men when they first meet, but with a gentle, patient introduction, he soon makes friends.
Marshall is a big, solidly-built lad, so we’re looking for confident, experienced owners – ideally someone who has had Dalmatians or other large breeds before and knows how to handle his strength with kindness. Given his size, we feel he’d be happiest as the sole focus of an adult only household. Marshall gets on brilliantly with other dogs – both big and small – and he has made plenty of canine friends at the kennels, so we are happy that he can share his new home with a canine companion.
Do you have an extra-large sofa and a Marshall-shaped space in your heart? If so, please get in touch – he is waiting to meet you.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
