Lenny
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Male
Meet Lenny!
This gorgeous boy was born on Comic Relief Day, and so was named after Lenny Henry. He will be 4 years old in March.
Lenny came to us with a slight skin condition, so was a bit bald in places, and looked a bit moth-eaten. The condition is now under control, and his fur is starting to grow back, and he is looking more handsome by the day. His fur is as soft as cotton wool and loves having it combed. He purrs whenever he is stroked, but the volume ramps up to maximum when he is combed!
Despite his impressive mane of hair, and confident looks, Lenny is a bit of a scaredy cat, and spent the first week in our care hiding. Once happy in his surroundings, he is a very friendly cat and loves having a cheek and head rub. Lenny takes a while to get used to strangers and will still run away if there are strange sights or noises, so he will need a patient owner who will give him the time and space he needs. He is starting to play with toys now, particularly catnip toys, which he attacks with relish. Diving on to an empty bin bag that rustles, is also a favourite !
Lenny originally lived in a busy house with several children, cats and a dog, but as he is quite a nervous cat, he would be better suited to being in a quiet household, where he is the only pet. This also means he can get the maximum amount of fuss, which he craves. Lenny is not a lap cat yet but likes to snuggle down close to where you are sitting. He loves company, so will follow you wherever you are in the house, and will soon settle down to sleep by you, if you are working from home. He also loves to sit on top of the wardrobe, to get a bird's eye view of the situation!
Lenny has got the early signs of gingivitis, so is now on a special oral care diet. He will need to stay on this food to stop it getting worse, and hopefully reverse the condition.
If you think you could give Lenny the happy and loving home he deserves, please contact Liz on 01767 681157 or email info@rats-animalrescue.co.uk who will be pleased to forward your enquiry on to the team.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners premises to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe and right.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
