Meet Eddie!
A Loving Little Gentleman Looking for His Forever Home 🐶💛

Eddie is a lovely two-year old Dachshund Cross who came into our care through no fault of his own. His owner was absolutely heartbroken to have to give him up, so we are committed to finding Eddie a wonderful new home.

We believe that Eddie is a Dachshund X Chihuahua, which makes him a Chiweenie! He has a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. Eddie is a very sweet and gentle boy, who thrives on companionship and will happily follow you from room to room, always keen to be close. He is currently in foster care and his wonderful fosterers are currently supporting him with some mild attachment issues, and he is making lovely progress with reassurance and routine.

This affectionate boy absolutely adores cuddles and he will make himself right at home snuggled up beside you. He also enjoys his walks and is a pleasure on the lead, walking nicely without pulling. Eddie does have a tendency to bark at larger dogs and birds – very much in keeping with his dachshund nature – but this is all vocal bravado; he has never shown any aggression and he does not bite.

When introduced calmly, Eddie is friendly and sociable with other dogs and could happily live with a canine companion. He also has a wonderful off-switch and loves his sleep, settling well at night and sleeping for long stretches.

Eddie would suit a home that can offer him plenty of affection, gentle reassurance and consistency. In return, he will reward his new family with endless loyalty, cuddles, and companionship.

ADOPTION PROCESS

We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.

Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:

Step 1:

The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.

Step 2:

The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.

Step 3:

The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.

Step 4:

The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.

Step 5:

A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.

Step 6:

If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
