Meet Trixie!
Little Trixie is a pretty 6 year old JRT X, who came into our care as a stray. We don’t know anything about her past, but as she can become quite anxious in certain scenarios, we suspect that she has sadly experienced trauma at some stage in her previous life.
Trixie absolutely loves people and really enjoys cuddles and fuss. She can be playful and she has plenty of energy for games. She is very friendly, so we’d be happy for her to live with children. Typical of her breed, she’s very vocal so someone who is used to Terriers and doesn’t mind barking would be ideal for her.
Although she hasn’t shown aggression towards other dogs, Trixie is sometimes uneasy in their company so she would like to be an only pet. She can also be reactive on walks (particularly in busy environments), so her new family would need to work with our behaviourist to make sure that with time and patience, she learns that the outside world isn’t a scary place.
Although she has some anxiety issues, Trixie is adorable. If you have the time to devote to helping to soothe her worries, please get in touch.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
