Meet Benji! (Reserved)
Beautiful Collie Benji has been much-loved member of the RATS Family for a little while now and despite two lovely families giving him a chance and trying their best with him, we have been sadly unable to find the pawfect home for him that he so deserves.
As he was tragically left to his own devices in a confined space for much of his life, three year old Collie Benji suffers with a few obsessive compulsive behaviour issues, notably an inability to settle down in a home environment when he has company.
If he is left alone and his owner is not in eyesight, Benji is able to relax and sleep peacefully however if his owner is present in the same room as him, he struggles to calm himself and settle down for quiet time.
For this reason, we feel that Benji would be best suited to a home where he is not around his owners all the time, perhaps even sleeping in a separate room or outdoor kennel so that he can get the peace and quiet that he needs for his own wellbeing.
His ideal future would be spent as a farm dog, with plenty of independence and time spent in the open air. Previous experience of Collies is crucial for Benji, and ongoing training will be required.
Outside of his compulsive behaviour issues, Benji is quite simply, gorgeous. He's friendly with adults, children and most other dogs, he responds very well to training and he loves to play with toys. He also walks very well on a lead, and thrives on human interaction

Apply to adopt Benji
If you would like to register your interest in adopting Benji, please complete your details below and we'll send you a detailed adopter enquiry form by e-mail.
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners premises to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe and right.
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and for an adoption donation (amount on request) and to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if they can't continue to do so.
