Meet Barney!
Meet Barney: A Little Lost Soul Who Is Finally Learning To Wag 🤗💖
Barney, a beautiful two year old Whippet arrived in our care recently as a stray. When he first arrived at the kennels he was a terrified little chap; this sweet little boy had clearly known very little kindness in his short life. The kennels would have been too much for Barney, so he was quickly moved into a wonderful foster home, so that he could relax and decompress in a family home.
When he first arrived in his foster home Barney slept for days, just getting up for food and to go out into the garden. It was as though his small body was simply exhausted from surviving. Initially his tail was firmly tucked between his legs, but after around 10 days his tail finally began to wag, which was so heart-warming to see.
Barney’s foster family say that he is an absolute delight to have around and he is growing in confidence every day. He is house trained, he sleeps in his bed all night and he can be left alone for short periods. He is fabulous with the two other dogs in his foster home and he is not food aggressive. He is still a bit nervous about going out, but with baby steps he is beginning to enjoy little walks.
We are looking for a calm, patient family for Barney. He could happily live with older children who will treat him with the gentle respect he deserves and he can certainly live with another calm dog of a similar size.
Do you have a peaceful home, filled with love, that will finally give Barney a place to call his forever home? If you do, then please get in touch.

ADOPTION PROCESS
We have a number of animals in our care. Most are homeless through no fault of their own and are looking for furever homes and owners who can give them the love and attention they deserve.
Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with our adoption process:
Step 1:
The animal is admitted into our care, and assessed by our team.
Step 2:
The animal is examined by a vet, who treats any ailments or injuries.
Step 3:
The appropriate team leader will liaise with the potential adopter to get to know them and assess whether they are a potential purr-fect match.
Step 4:
The potential new owners meet the animal, and decide if they want to adopt. New owners may be asked to visit the animal several times before the adoption takes place.
Step 5:
A pre-adoption home visit will then be made to new owners home to meet the members of the household and to ensure that the environment is safe.
Step 6:
If the visit goes well, you will be asked to collect the animal and to make an adoption donation (amount on request) as well as to sign an agreement to care for the pet with a commitment to return them to us if you can't continue to do so.
